Christopher Griffiths

Christopher Griffiths OBE is Foundation Professor of Dermatology at  University of Manchester, Director of Manchester Centre for Dermatology Research, and head of the Dermatolgy Theme of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. He is an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. He founded he Manchester Dermatopharmacology Unit and Manchester Psoriasis Service in 1994 and cofounded the International Psoriasis Council in 2004.  He was President of the British Association of Dermatology 2004 to 2005. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Services and an elected Member of Academia Europaea. He was awarded the Sir Archibald Gray Medal for outstanding service to British Dermatology in 2015 and the Society of Cosmetic Scientists Medal in 2016. He was made an OBE in the 2018 New Years Honours for service to Dermatology.
